Tei Mensah Huagie (Founder of Not A Waste Recycle Studio)

The Artiste,Tei Mensah Huagie was born in the early years of 1970 at La, a suburb of Accra. Tei is a renowned Ghanaian and International artiste with regards to painting, sculptoring and desingning. After his basic education, he enrolled with the Ghanatta College of Arts and Design between 1991 and 1994 graduating with  a diploma in Arts. After this education, Tei felt the need to gain some experience and as a result understudied Amon Kotei (a renowned Artiste) between 1995 and 1997. For another year (1997), he also understudied the ‘Screen Printings’ of Sowatey Adjei, also a Ghanaian Artiste.

In the same year, Tei Huagie established his own Cloth Designing Label called ‘Clothoncloth Designs which is a self-trained business. In addition, Tei privately trained and worked as a Painter, Sculptor and Designer at his studio in La, Accra. He has participated in numerous international exhibitions and has also won awards to his credit. You can find Tei’s work at places such as the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, Canada, The World Bank Headquaters in Washington DC and also by Individuals such as Julian Michaels, an Archtect from South Africa.

In recent times, Tei has had invitations to the Duetseland to hold workshops about his Art work with universities including the University of Luneburge, Rudolf Steiner School, Gymnasium Luneburger Heide etc.

Tei Huagie is a member of the Ghana Association of Visualk Artiste (GAVA) and also a member of the Ghana Association of Contemporary Arts.
